Facebook has confirmed the test of a feature that allows Instagram users to share reels on Facebook News Feed.
Instagram officially introduced Reels back in August of last year, giving users the ability to record and edit short videos with audio and effects, and share Reels on Facebook on its Feed or share on a new space in Explore.
Now, according to a recent Reuters report, Facebook is running a test in India that allows some users the option to have their reels appear and be recommended on Facebook as well.
“In India, we’re testing the ability for Instagram creators to choose to have their Reels recommended on Facebook… creators can reach new audiences and people can create and discover more entertaining content,” explained a Facebook spokeswoman in the report.
The reels will appear in News Feed, but according to Reuters, Facebook will also soon have its own version of reels on its main app.
Don’t forget to add click to 1 or more tweets to emphasise key points
In case you’re wondering, Reels is pretty much a TikTok clone, and appeared right around the time that TikTok was banned in the country last summer.
