In a bid to lure more users to Switch Online, Nintendo may also soon be adding classic Game Boy and Game Boy Color games to the service.

In last week’s Nate the Hate podcast, it was suggested that Nintendo may soon bring a bunch of classic games to the Switch through Switch Online.

During the course of the podcast, its hosts spoke about some fans finding an emulator hiding in the 2019 code, dubbed ‘Hiyoko,’ the purpose of which has apparently not been revealed. But both co-hosts of the show, Nate and ‘MVG’ believe it is likely destined to be used for “Game Boy and Game Boy Color” titles.

It may be reasonable also to speculate that Nintendo is preparing to release some of the company’s classics on the occasion of the third anniversary of Switch Online this month, which would not be the first time the company brings back retro games.

In a bid to lure more users to Switch Online, Nintendo may soon be adding classic Game Boy and Game Boy Color games to the service.

It has already previously revived the Super Mario Bros. series, The Legend of Zelda, and Donkey Kong. Nintendo Switch Online’s classic game library currently includes around 80 NES games and 50 SNES games.
