Nokia budget phone lineup: Nokia is changing a bit. Its parent company, HMD Global, has announced six new Nokia-branded phones in three new smartphone series, two devices in each series. The new phones will replace Nokia’s current budget models and set the stage for Nokia’s future series of phones, which will go to a higher level. These announcements come at the same time as the new mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) that the company is launching in the UK.
The youngest series is called the C-Series, and its phones will cost about $130. Next is the G-Series, whose phones will cost between $110 and $300. And last, but not least, the X-Series, which phones will cost $250. It is safe to say that none of these phones are really high-end.
A brief description of each of the new phones can be found below, but if you’re interested in buying one, you may have to wait a bit depending on the model you’re considering. Only the Nokia G10 and G20 are currently shipping in the U.S., with the other models confirmed for the U.K. for now.

Nokia C-Series.
The Nokia C-Series is the youngest model of Nokia’s new phones, and it currently consists of two devices, the Nokia C10 and the Nokia C20. Here is a review of each of them.
Nokia C10
Nokia C10 is the cheapest Nokia device, designed for those who want to spend as little money as possible on a smartphone. The device has a Unisoc SC7331e processor combined with 1 or 2 GB of RAM, so don’t expect anything more than simple use. You’ll get 16 or 32 GB of memory, which should be enough for most users of this type of phone. Fortunately, there is a microSD card slot for memory expansion.
On the front, there’s a 6.5-inch display with 720p resolution, as well as a teardrop-shaped notch at the top. The rear and front cameras are 5 megapixels, and while they take pictures, don’t expect them to be great. Powering it all is a 3,000 mAh battery, which charges through a MicroUSB port on the bottom panel.
The phone runs Android 11 Go, and Nokia says it will get two years of updates. It’s not yet clear where the phone will launch, but HMD Global says it won’t make it to the UK.
Nokia C20
The Nokia C20 is a small step up from the C10, though don’t expect a major upgrade. The device has a more powerful chipset based on the Unisoc SC9863a processor, as well as 1 or 2 GB of RAM. Again, you’ll get 16 or 32 GB of storage, as well as a microSD card slot for memory expansion.
The phone’s battery, camera, and display are pretty much the same as the C10, although the C20’s camera supports HDR photography. The device also has a MicroUSB port, and the battery is removable.
Like the C10, the C20 comes with Android 11 Go with two years of promised updates. So far, we know that it will go on sale in the UK through Three in early June and will cost 79 British pounds, or about $108.

Nokia G-Series
The Nokia G-Series is intended to be a step up from the C-Series, offering more powerful chipsets and a full version of Android. The G-Series includes two devices, including the G10 and G20.
Nokia G10
The Nokia G-series replaces the ultra-low-end Unisoc processors with MediaTek chipsets. In the Nokia G10 you get the MediaTek G25 processor combined with 3 or 4 GB of RAM and 32 or 64 GB of storage. This is a noticeable step up from the C-series phones, which should provide a smoother and faster experience.
The phone is also equipped with more high-end features. Specifically, it has a triple camera system on the back, consisting of a 13-megapixel main camera, a 2-megapixel macro camera and a 2-megapixel depth camera. Powering it all is a powerful 5,050 mAh battery that charges through the USB-C port on the bottom of the device. The phone also has a dedicated Google Assistant button, which can come in handy, and a lateral fingerprint sensor.
The Nokia G10 retains a design similar to the C-Series phones, with a small notch at the top for the 8-megapixel front camera. It has a 6.5-inch 720p display, just like the C-Series phones. The G10 comes with Android 11 with the promise of two years of updates. The Nokia G10 can be purchased for $149 on Amazon, and in the UK for £110, or about $151.
Nokia G20.
The next model is the Nokia G20, which again got a slight performance boost. The device has a MediaTek G35 processor, 4GB of RAM and 64GB or 128GB of storage, which should be enough for most.
On the back of the device, the camera is again more versatile. The Nokia G20 has a four-camera system: a 48-megapixel main camera, a 5-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera, a 2-megapixel macro camera and a 2-megapixel depth camera. In addition, the device has the same impressive 5,050 mAh battery and the same 6.5-inch 720p display. Other features include a Google Assistant button and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.
The Nokia G20 comes with Android 11, will get two years of updates and will go on sale in the UK in May for £130, which is about $179. In the U.S., the G20 will go on sale June 28 for $199. It will be available in Glacier and Night color options.
Nokia X-Series.
The highest-rated series of new Nokia phones is the Nokia X-Series, but while the X-Series devices are better than other new Nokia phones, they’re still budget-friendly.
Nokia X10.
The Nokia X10 is one of two new devices equipped with the Qualcomm chipset. The device has a new Qualcomm Snapdragon 480 chipset that supports 5G connectivity. It is combined with 4 GB or 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. It’s safe to say that the Nokia X10 should perform much better than lower-end Nokia devices.
The camera is likely to be better, too. Nokia continues its partnership with Zeiss as part of the X series, and the Nokia X10’s Zeiss-branded camera is a quad-camera. You’ll get a 48-megapixel main camera, a 5-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera, a 2-megapixel depth camera and a 2-megapixel macro camera. On the front is an 8-megapixel selfie camera. Powering it all is a 4,470 mAh battery.
The Nokia X10 display is also better. You get a 6.67-inch display with 1 080p resolution and a cutout for the front camera instead of a notch. In other words, the Nokia X10 looks a bit more modern than other new Nokia devices.
The Nokia X10 retains the Google Assistant button and lateral fingerprint sensor, and also comes with Android 11. For the X series, Nokia promises three years of updates. The 6GB/128GB Nokia X10 will cost £250, or about $344, when it goes on sale in the UK in June. The 4GB/128GB version will only be available on the Three network.
Nokia X20.
Last but not least, the Nokia X20 is the best of these new phones. The device has the same Snapdragon 480 processor as the X10, but you get 6 or 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage.
The camera on this device is also a bit of an upgrade. The Zeiss-branded main camera has a 64-megapixel camera, a 5-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera, a 2-megapixel depth camera and a 2-megapixel macro camera. The front camera has a resolution of 32 megapixels.
Apart from this camera, the Nokia X20 offers the same features as the Nokia X10. It has the same buttons and sensors, the same battery and the same Android 11 software, as well as the promised three years of updates. If purchased in Europe or the UK, HMD Global will add another year to the standard two-year warranty, which adds up to three years. The smartphone is scheduled for release in May, with the 6GB/128GB version priced at £300/$412 and the 8GB/128GB model at £320/$440.
