LGBT+ News: The partnership was designed with each brand’s audience in mind.
Gay Times Group and Openly, Thomson Reuters Foundation’s digital news platform for LGBT+ people, have announced a partnership to provide deeper reporting to a wider audience and the global LGBT+ community.
Gay Times will provide Openly’s journalism to its global audience through a range of channels, including online and social media. Openly will benefit from the scale and reach of Gay Times’ audience, and Gay Times will benefit from Openly’s original coverage of global, accurate and unbiased LGBT+ news.
The two organizations will strategically work together with the goal of becoming world leaders in quality content created by LGBT+ people, for LGBT+ people, with a high degree of nuance and perspective.
Tag Warner, executive director of Gay Times, said: “Our first-of-its-kind partnership between Gay Times and Thomson Reuters Foundation through their LGBT+-focused digital platform Openly will increase the depth and scope of coverage we provide to our global LGBT+ audience. This unique collaboration will further Gay Times Group’s mission to inform, educate and inspire LGBT+ people around the world through high-quality content.”

Hugo Greenhalgh, editor of Openly, said: “Openly advocates unbiased, neutral coverage of LGBT+ issues, including policy and legislative changes around the world. Openly has extensive experience in covering global news such as Brunei’s attempt to impose the death penalty for same-sex sex. By shedding light on under-reported stories to empower underrepresented communities, we can counter misinformation and misrepresentation with much-needed factual and fair coverage.
“Our exciting partnership with Gay Times Group will allow Openly stories to reach a much wider audience and accelerate our mission to advance human rights and build more inclusive and prosperous societies.”
